We do know that School Outings take some planning and want to make it as easy as possible to have an excellent experience with us! So teachers, grab a much-needed mug of tea and settle in for a quick read – we’ve compiled a list of the TEN most Frequently Asked Questions to ensure a smooth and effortless school outing planning session.
Let’s jump right in!
1. What is the age restriction at Wonderdal?

The Interactive Edutainment Centre was created for children aged between 5 -13 years of age.
Why this specific age range?
Wonderdal is divided into Seven Interactive Learning Zones that have been designed in collaboration with educational consultants, edutech developers, and learning space designers to create unique learning zones that are interactive, foster children’s creativity and promote knowledge and skills across a variety of educational themes – that also happen to be CAPS aligned and cover various educational topics.
Our 7 Learning Zones include:
- The Tinker Workshop
- Tree Of Light
- Wonder Garden
- Health Kitchen
- Story Cave
- Brain Teaser Islands
- Wildlands

2. Are children fully supervised?

That would be a very big, massive, YES!
Wonderdal takes safety extremely seriously and because of this, we provide educational supervisors, known as the WonderPals.
The Wonderpals have been fully trained to assist, guide, and watch over little adventurers so that teachers can take a much-needed break!

3. How long are the play sessions?

A VERY important question, we know and we think you’ll like the answer to this one…
Each play session lasts for 2 hours – that’s ample time for all of the Little Adventurers to really get the most out of the Wonderdal experience!
That’s 2 hours to explore and participate with peers at the 7 Interactive Zones, ask questions, and indulge in free play.
*Wonderdal encourages free play and children are free to visit and explore each zone in their own time and sequence*.
4. Do you cater for kids with special needs?
We really want to include everybody in the Wonderdal experience!
In saying that, we’ll make every effort we possibly can to include visitors with special needs.
We find it best to contact us in advance, ahead of your planned school trip to discuss how best we are able to accommodate learners, along with additional requirements that may need to be organised. This can be done by:
- Sending a quick email to: bookings@wonderdal.co.za
- Or giving us a call on: 021 205 5624 (Tues – Fri: 08:00- 17:00)
5. Are students required to bring their own lunch?

All of that learning, playing, and concentrating is hungry work!
Yes, learners should absolutely bring a packed lunch along. A lunch break will be scheduled as per the teacher(s) request.
Of course, as Little Adventurers will learn at the Health Kitchen (one of the 7 Interactive Learning Zones) – healthier options are always encouraged to ensure those bodies stay energized, strong and healthy!
We love these healthy school inspiration lunchbox ideas – and we think you will too!
6. Is it essential to book?
Oh yes!
We urge you (teachers) to ensure that you HAVE booked in advance – as you can imagine, we are pretty popular (everybody wants to explore Wonderdal!). Please be sure to book via email: schools@wonderdal.co.za OR…
But don’t worry, it’s super easy to do thanks to our Online Booking process, which you can find here.
Fill out the necessary information and that’s it, your slot is reserved! *we told you it would be easy*.
7. When should we arrive and what should we do?
Please arrive 30 minutes before your booked time slot – this will ensure that we have plenty of time to get the group ready for admission.
If you booked online (look above), remember to bring your booking confirmation along with you – this ensures that your ticket(s) will be issued.
And if you’re running late, please contact us on:(021) 205 5624. After registration, learners will receive a bracelet that stores their name and age, as well as their teacher’s information, along with a pair of safety socks.
8. How safe is it at Wonderdal?

Remember to make a note of this teachers:
