Since opening in 2018, Wonderdal has welcomed hundreds of young visitors, families and school groups and enriched lives through education, entertainment and play. We are proud of the impact we’ve made, but we also realise there are countless other children in the Western Cape without the resources to discover the edutainment wonders of Wonderdal. To broaden the educational impact of Wonderdal and open even more young minds to the wondrous world of science and nature, our ongoing outreach initiatives work to ensure that underprivileged learners in surrounding communities are able to access the enriching experience on offer at Wonderdal.
Our ongoing fundraising efforts have enabled us to partner with various charitable foundations, such as Jessyka Crew, Val de Vie Foundation, Anna Foundation and the South African Circus Academy, and to cover the cost of visits to Wonderdal for hundreds of underprivileged learners.

But most importantly, Wonderdal has the power to show children that learning can be a fun and rewarding experience.

THE WONDERBOX
While bringing underprivileged learners to Wonderdal has an enormous impact, it’s not always logistically possible. So, to broaden our reach and to create a more sustainable learning experience, we launched the ‘WonderBox’ initiative, which will take the educational wonders of Wonderdal to underprivileged learners across the Cape winelands.
The WonderBox, each valued at app. R10,000 – distils the key educational concepts of the Wonderdal experience into a format that can be rolled out to those schools and communities unable to visit Wonderdal itself.
THE WONDERBOX

The WonderBox contains a range of award-winning educational and interactive resources that teach children some of the Wonderdal learning concepts. The items included in the box are, among others, portable science kits, book libraries, a marble run kit, science experiments, outdoor play equipment, plant growing kits, as well as games for the development of fine motor skills, problem solving and creative thinking. A manual the educators using the WonderBox is also included in it to assist and provide guidance on how to use the provided resources for educational purposes.
The WonderBox is aimed at assisting teachers and facilitators to create an enriching, stimulating and inspiring learning experience for their learners, and spreading some of the wonders of Wonderdal.
HOW YOU CAN SPRINKLE MAGIC AND WONDERS TO CHILDREN IN NEED
• Help us to support children in need by donating one or more WonderBoxes to a school or a community centre of your choice. Personalized branding of the WonderBox may be arranged.
• Donate an amount of your choice towards the creation of another WonderBox that will be delivered by us to one of our partner charities.
• From the proceeds of any ticket to Wonderdal that you purchase we will allocate an amount of R5 towards the creation of more WonderBoxes to benefit the winelands and wider community. Should you wish to match the R5 donation, you can do so when purchasing your ticket and tick the relevant box.
