If a child has any special needs and will require additional assistance contact us at 021 205 5624 or at schools@wonderdal.co.za. We will do our best to accommodate the child but will have to decide on a case-by-case basis.

We are not allowed to administer any medication to a child. If a child suffers from a medical condition, the treatment of the condition remains your responsibility.

If a child is injured at Wonderdal we will notify the emergency contact. A first aid kit for the treatment of minor injuries is available on the premises.

If a child is seriously injured, a Wonderdal employee will first contact emergency services and thereafter the emergency contact for the child.

Wonderdal is not responsible for

  • the quality of the emergency assistance provided by Hazendal staff,
  • any costs relating to the treatment of the child, even if there was no time to approve the expense with the adult responsible for the child.

Wonderdal is an educational facility developed for children between the ages of 5 and 13.

The age restriction rules are the following:

  • We provide supervision for children between the ages of 5 and 13.
  • No children over the age of 13 are allowed in Wonderdal, unless you have made a specific arrangement with us.

Wonderdal reserves the right to make exceptions to these rules. This does not place any obligation on us to do so again.

Schools must make a booking. These bookings are subject to separate terms and conditions. If you would like to make a booking for a school you can do so by contacting us at 021 205 5624 or at schools@wonderdal.co.za.

When you book you choose the date and time for your session. Please ensure that you choose the correct date and time.

We will confirm your booking when we receive your payment. Any changes that are made close to your session date, may be subject to a penalty. Please see HOW TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL below.

Once you have made your booking, you will receive an invoice. Payment can be made via EFT.

If you make payment via EFT you must make payment two weeks prior to your session. If you do not make payment within two weeks, your booking will lapse.

If you make payment via EFT, please use the invoice number as a reference.

Please stick to the following rules:

  • Be on time. Please note that our sessions start on the hour for a duration of two hours. If you arrive late for your session, you will not be allowed to stay longer.
  • You may not bring your own food into Wonderdal. If you want us to provide refreshments, contact schools@wonderdal.co.za.
  • You may not wear shoes inside Wonderdal. Special non-slip safety socks must be purchased for all children at R40 per pair. These socks are yours to keep. Remember to bring them along when you visit Wonderdal again.
  • You may not bring any toys or gadgets into Wonderdal.
  • Make sure that you and the children pay attention to all warnings and instructions.

If a child does not follow the rules and instructions given by Wonderdal employees:

  • You will be liable for any damage to the Wonderdal equipment as well as any injury caused to other children.
  • We will ask the adult who will be collecting the child to come and fetch the child. No refund will be given.

We have a strict policy for the collection of children. This is for the safety of the children.

The teacher in charge for the school outing will take responsibility for the collection of children. No security code will be issued in this regard.

We collect your personal information, the personal information of the child who you make a booking for, and the name of the adult collecting the child.

We collect your

  • first and last names
  • email address
  • emergency contact person’s name and contact number.

We only require this information if you are unable to be the emergency contact and would like someone else to be the emergency contact.

We collect a child’s

  • first and last names
  • birthday

We collect the adult who will be collecting the child’s

  • first and last names
  • cell phone number
  • ID number

1.2. We collect information in the comment box
There is a comment box for you to write any notes for us. We collect the information that is in this comment box.

1.3. We collect your personal information when you sign up for our newsletter
You have the option to subscribe to our newsletter. You will always have the option to unsubscribe from receiving the newsletter by following our unsubscribe link at the bottom of an email or by contacting us.

1.4. We collect your personal information when you contact us
When you contact us via social media, email, or telephone with a query, complaint, request, or to give us feedback, we collect your information included in your message. We use this information to reply to, investigate, and resolve your query, complaint, or request.

1.5. Photographs taken within Wonderdal
There is a photo booth inside Wonderdal. The photographs of the children will be sent to the email address you provided with your booking.

1.6. CCTV footage
The Wonderdal premises are monitored by CCTV footage. This is for the safety of all visitors and employees of the farm.

The information that we collect are sensitive. That is why we have safeguards in place to protect the information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.  But no system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

If there is any breach that affects your personal information we will let you know and inform you how you can minimise the impact.

If someone else is going to collect the children, the SMS with the 4 digit code must be forwarded to them or you can notify us of the change by calling 021 205 5624 and we will forward the code.

If the session ends and someone other than the person on our system arrives to collect the child without the 4 digit code, we will follow the following procedure:

  • We will contact the person on our system who was supposed to collect the children to confirm the identity of the person who has arrived to collect them.
  • If we cannot reach the person on our system, we will contact the emergency contact listed on our system to confirm the identity of the person who has arrived to collect the children.
  • If we cannot reach the person on the emergency contact, we will ask the children if they are familiar with the person. If we get a satisfactory response, we will allow the children to leave. We will enter the details of the adult who collected the children on our system.
  • If we do not get a satisfactory response from the child, we will not allow the children to leave and will contact the Department of Social Development or the South African Police Service. While we resolve the issue, the children will be under the supervision of Wonderdal staff.

When the session ends, the child must wait in the designated area that is supervised by Wonderdal staff until you arrive.

If no one arrives after 10 minutes we will contact the person on our system who was supposed to collect the child.

If we cannot reach the person on our system, we will contact the emergency contact listed on our system, and if we still cannot reach someone to come and collect the child, we will follow the rest of the process outlined in the section above, WHO MAY COLLECT THE CHILDREN?

Wonderdal can accommodate up to 120 children per session. Booking for more than 10 children is considered a group booking, which means that this policy applies. If you are booking for less than 10 children, the Day Visitors booking policies will apply.

Anybody can book a session for any child. However, if you are not the parent or guardian of a child who will visit Wonderdal, you must have the permission of the child’s parent or guardian to make the booking on behalf of their child, to share the child’s personal information with us, and to bring the child to Wonderdal. You must also bring these terms and conditions to the attention of the parent or guardian.

You can reschedule your booking up to 24 hours prior to your session. Whether you can secure a different session will depend on availability.

You can cancel your booking four weeks prior to your session with a full refund.

If you cancel your booking between two and four weeks prior to your session, 50% of the price will be refunded. You will also be given the option to reschedule the session.

You cannot cancel or reschedule your booking within two weeks of the session. If you miss your session, you will not be refunded.
